Bridge moved from Chelsea to Manchester City in early 2009, where a few months later Mancini succeeded then coach Mark Hughes. “I wouldn’t say he’s the worst I’ve ever had, but tactically he’s not that good. Former professional Wayne Bridge reckons with Roberto Mancini: “I didn’t like training at all”
Bridge said, “I had a fight with him. I was there for a couple of months and we got along well, but I didn’t like the training at all.”A year after Mancini took over, Bridge joined West Ham United on loan. He left City for Reading in 2013, after spells at Sunderland and Brighton.
Mancini, meanwhile, celebrated the first Premier League title in the club’s history with the Citizens in 2012. Bridge, however, questions the Italian’s share of the championship.
“Great credit for what he did at Manchester City when he won the league. City fans will love him for that. But if you look at the players and the squad he had, they won, not him as a coach,” stressed the former left-back.
