  • Wallets on the banned marketplaces cannot mint a “Sewer Pass” NFT.
  • A Sewer Pass is the user’s entry into the skill-based NFT game “Dookey Dash.”

Yuga Labs, the creators of the most popular BAYC & MAYC NFTs, have tagged four secondary NFT marketplaces, LooksRare, Blur, Sudoswap, and NFTX, under the “deny list” of its new NFT drop – “Sewer Pass.” This ban prevents the wallet addresses of these platforms from claiming the NFT and playng the newly launched Dookey Dash.

Significantly, the creators’ royalties are the core criteria that made Yuga Labs push the 4 marketplaces to the blocklist. Because these above-mentioned NFT marketplaces have the royalties as only optional and have not made it mandatory. Eventually, this contradicts the creator-centric goal of the Ape-based NFT creators.

According to sources from CoinDesk, Yuga Labs Team stated:

“The Sewer Pass free claim will only be traded on platforms respecting creator royalties.”

Through this action, Yuga Labs exhibits its strong priority of protecting creators’ royalties and existing as a creator-friendly ecosystem. In his November blog, Wylie Aronow (Gordon Goner), Yuga Labs co-founder, jotted down the objective of the new NFT smart contracts. These contracts that aid this mission prevent certain wallets to make NFT transfers and curb over-the-counter (OTC) trades

Brief Gist of Sewer Pass & Dookey Dash

Yuga Labs launched Dookey Dash, an “endless-runner” game on Wednesday. Since Sewer Pass is a prerequisite for users to enter this skill-based NFT game, the minting went live on the same day, Moreover, only holders of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), and Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC) NFTs can claim Sewer Passes. Furthermore, Sewer Passes are categorized into four tiers, Tier 1 to Tier 4, based on the NFT users hold.

The minting of Sewer Passes and the associated game is scheduled for a brief period – starting from Monday to February 8. In such a short period, users are provided with unlimited plays in the Dookey Dash web portal. This endless-runner game is compatible with upgraded versions of major web browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Safari. Based on the players’ scores, the valid Sewer Passes gain access to unleash a “mysterious power”, which will be announced soon.
