Philips Ambilight TVs enchant viewers with an impressive backlight. No wonder, then, that the frosted discs enjoy great popularity among film fans. In cooperation with the smart Philips Hue Bulbs the TVs create a magical play of light in the living room. The fun is usually not cheap, unless you stop by Otto these days.

The mail order company had lowered the price of many Ambilight models from Philips. The Philips 58PUS8105/12 stands out in particular. Whose recommended retail price is titled Philips at 899,99 Euro. Currently you get the smart TV already for 529.99 Euros.

With a screen diagonal of 58 inches (146 centimeters), the TV ranks mid-range in terms of size. His image resolves – as usual for TVs in 2021-in 4K Ultra HD on. If the operation by remote control is too cumbersome for you, it also obeys Amazon’s Alexa.

Highlight, of course, is its backlight. The small LED lights on the back of the TV project the colors on the screen and thus brighten the surroundings of the TV. At parties, the Philips 58PUS8105/12 flickers the right light show to the music thanks to its lighting.

The Smart TV also leaves nothing to be desired for everyday film and television enjoyment: It has a triple tuner, so receives television signals via DVB – T2 HD (antenna), DVB-C (cable) as well as DVB-S and DVB-S2 (satellite). Connect it to the Internet via Wi-Fi and install apps such as Netflix or YouTube. A browser for surfing is of course pre-installed.

If the in-house wireless network is too unstable, the TV also connects to the router or modem via a LAN cable to get a stable connection to the Internet. There is also no lack of other connection options: on board are two USB-A and three HDMI sockets on the back of the TV. And the device also has a CI+module slot if you want to unlock HD programs via the interface.
