The VFL Wolfsburg had fought in Münster in the 2nd round of the DFB Cup. Due to an alternating error, however, it still threatens to end.

The VfL Wolfsburg threatens because of an exchange error in the 3:1 victory after extra time at Preussen Münster a subsequent exit in the DFB Cup.

A report by the kicker according to the Wolfsburg authorities had even asked the fourth official about this, but the latter had not stopped the change. Referee Christian Dingert is said to have noted the change error in the match report.

If Münster protests, the game could be counted in favor of the hosts. Wolfsburg has not yet issued a statement.

Central defender Marcel Hoffmeier had shot the surprising lead for the long-time strong fourth division club after a corner (74.). Josip Brekalo equalized for the disappointing Cup winner of 2015 (90.). Goalscorers Wout Weghorst (103.) and Ridle Baku (120.+1) met in the heated extension to the trembling victory for the VfL.
