From today, people recovering from a corona infection can also get a digital vaccination certificate in pharmacies. The persons concerned must submit three documents for this purpose.

From this Friday, digital corona vaccination certificates should also be available in pharmacies for convalescents who have received a vaccination in addition. The necessary technical solution has now been implemented, as the German Association of Pharmacists announced on Thursday in Berlin.

More than 20 million vaccination certificates have already been issued via the system of pharmacies, said Chairman Thomas Dittrich. For citizens who have undergone an infection and therefore subsequently received only a single vaccination, it has not yet been technically possible. “Here we go.”

Convalescents must present three documents

To get the digital proof to show on the mobile phone, recovered would have to present three documents in the pharmacy:

  1. an ID card with photo
  2. proof of a positive PCR test
  3. and proof of the single vaccination, for example in the yellow vaccination book.

“After all, there are more than 3.7 million convalescents in the country, many of whom have been vaccinated in the meantime,” Dittrich said. “The vaccination certificate can help you enjoy the summer and the holiday season more carefree”. For citizens, the offer is free, pharmacies received as remuneration well 5,04 Euro plus continuous VAT.

A total of 60 million digital vaccination certificates issued

The creation of the digital proofs started in mid-June. They can be obtained directly after vaccination in practices and vaccination centers. For this purpose, a code is generated that can be scanned with a smartphone or taken along on paper and scanned later. Subsequently, this is also possible in pharmacies. In addition, QR codes should also be sent by post to vaccination centers after already done vaccinations, which can then be scanned by yourself.

Total according to the Federal Ministry of Health 60 million digital certificates have now been created across all channels – and thus around 30 million digital vaccination passports. The background is that a certificate is now issued for each vaccination-for first and for two vaccinations. Even fully vaccinated people receive two certificates when they subsequently deposit them in the app. The Johnson & Johnson product requires only one syringe for full vaccination coverage.
