Good ideas don’t always come from a whim, but from a necessity: Denise Hahn, just 27 years old, has been suffering from a metabolic disease since 2018 – as a result, she gained over 20 kilos within a short period of time. And not only that: in the warm summer months, she regularly suffered from sore thighs on the insides. After not being able to find a suitable solution for her (skin)problem, she developed her own product-the so – called summersaver, an anti-wound rubbing stick against skin irritations and sores on sensitive skin areas.

It is suitable for inner thighs, bra contours and also for the feet-after all, blisters are also a form of wound friction. The same applies to sports activities: sore grated areas are not uncommon here. For this reason, Denise has launched a second anti-rubbing stick on the market, which is intended to protect the skin from irritation when cycling, trekking or jogging. Both variants have been dermatologically tested, contain no aluminium, are vegan, PEG-and animal-free. They have nourishing ingredients such as allantoin and vitamin E, coconut and almond oil. The only difference lies in the fragrance: during the Summer saver should smell of peach, the Summer Saver Sports after bergamot and mint.

But does the anti-rubbing stick really help against skin irritations and sores? We did the practical test.

Practice test: the summer saver is applied

I am 1.58 meters tall, and would describe my character as normal. Nevertheless, I know the problem wunder thighs: When I wear a dress during the day in summer and move a lot, for example during a city trip on holiday, the inside of my thighs are often reddened and painful in the evening. When jogging, on the other hand, I have the problem that the sports bra cuts into the skin and irritates you. For this reason, I have star once tested both variants of the anti-graft stick.

For the self-test I first used the Summer saver both generously applied around the bra contours on the skin and on the inside of my thighs-and then went for a round jog. Later, I tested the Summersaver sport on my feet by spreading the balm around the bales and then wearing uncomfortable shoes that rub on the heels and often lead to painful blisters. What do you want me to say? In fact, the anti-graft stick surprised me positively.

Conclusion: the buzzer cut saver

Shortly after Applying to me the pleasant smell of the summer savers is increased in the nose. It smells slightly sweetish, but not too intrusive. On the skin itself, the balm acts like an invisible sliding film, which can be easily applied to any point. When running, I noticed directly that my thighs do not – as usual-rub against each other. Rather, I had the feeling that the skin areas that are constantly touching each other gently glide past each other. After the jog, my skin looked unchanged, although the thin film had already moved in. And even under the chest, where the sports bra usually leaves red pressure marks, almost nothing was visible.

However, it was different on the feet: by applying the balm, my heels have really slipped out of the shoes. Although I did not run any blisters, I still felt the painful pressure points. I was not convinced by the anti-graft stick in this case-although I can imagine that the Sport Variant in combination with socks and running shoes works much better. However, since I only tested them on bare feet in high shoes, I can not make a judgment here. All in all, the idea has definitely been implemented well and I am already looking forward to the summer!
