The”parking” stadium in Copenhagen was quite filled during the Belgium-Denmark match on Thursday. But now the news: the particularly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus was discovered in three people.

The delta variant of the coronavirus has been detected in three stadium spectators of the European Championship match between Denmark and Belgium. The Danish Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke and the Authority for Patient Safety therefore called on 4000 spectators from six specific stadium blocks to have a PCR test done on Wednesday evening.

Denmark: 247 delta cases since the beginning of April

The European Championship match had taken place on Thursday in Copenhagen’s Stadion Parken, Belgium had won the encounter with 2:1.

The delta variant B. 1.617.2, which first appeared in India, is considered more contagious than other corona variants. The EU health authority ECDC assumes that it will account for 90 percent of all new corona infections in Europe at the end of August. Since the beginning of April, 247 cases have been detected in Denmark.
