He grew up in Vermont and he honed his interviewing skills as a supermarket cashier by asking Bernie Sanders “Paper or plastic?” After graduating from Syracuse University in 1999, Jeff began his journalistic odyssey at The Watertown Daily Times in upstate New York, where he impressed then-U.S. Senate candidate Hillary Clinton so much she called him “John” at the end of an interview. From there, he went to Annapolis, Maryland, where he covered city, county and state government at The Capital newspaper. Today, Jeff writes about anything and everything. Along the way, Jeff has covered wildfires, a tropical storm, 9/11 and the Dec. 2 terror attack in San Bernardino. If you have a question or story idea about politics or the inner workings of government, please let Jeff know. He’ll do his best to answer, even if it involves a little math.

Howard Wright, VP and global head of startups, AWS states:

“No one can call the time or date or quarter that it’s going to happen and it’ll be mainstream, but we’ve seen the cycles of growth before.”

According to Gartner, a technological research and consulting firm, the blockchain-based business value will reach $176 billion in two years and skyrocket to $3.1 trillion by 2030.

Specifications of the Partnership

Apart from helping out the big government and private institutions, the AWS-Avalanche partnership also wishes to make node management easy for the developers. Avalanche utilizes the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to increase the speed of the transaction and validation process.

Emin Gün Sirer, CEO and Co-founder of Ava Labs, states:

“It has been a huge, huge boon to all of our developers to be able to spin up nodes on the fly, spin up test networks on the fly, using AWS.”

The participation of Avalanche in AWS Activate will improve the experience of 500 applications that are built on the layer 1 chain. In the future, Ava Labs is also going to include Subnet deployment in the Amazon marketplace. This will encourage users to launch their unique subnets too.

Additionally, the partnership will expand in the entrepreneur- and developer-focused events like Avalanche Summit, Avalanche Creates, and hackathons.
